LYON COUNTY (KSNT) - A 21-year-old man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash in Lyon County on Monday.
At 6:12 p.m., the 21-year-old was driving a Suzuki motorcycle on I35 and attempted to pass an emergency vehicle on the right shoulder. The motorcyclist went off the shoulder into the ditch and hit a barbed wire fence. The motorcycle came to rest in a field, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP).
The motorcyclist was taken to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries. According to the KHP, the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
