CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- For the last day of 8News' Spirit of the Season series, 8News Anchors Delaney Hall, Autumn Childress and StormTracker8 Meteorologist Jacqueline Waters are sharing the stories behind sentimental Christmas tree ornaments. Childress said the ornament she chose is a framed picture of herself when she was between the ages of 2 and 3, and the story behind it comes from her mother. "She says as a child, I was always laughy and giggling in pictures, but she wanted to have a serious picture of me as a child, so she would say, 'Autumn, be serious,' and I would be like, 'What's serious,'" Childress explained. Childress added that her mother said she busted out laughing shortly after the picture was taken, to which Hall said that not much has changed. Hall's sentimental ornament is a sparkly angel with a tag that says "2015." Much like Childress, Hall said the ornament brings back fond memories between herself and her mother. "Every year since I was born, my mom started this tradition of buying me an angel ornament, one of my brothers a Santa ornament and a snowman ornament for my other brother. So, growing up, we would put each of our ornaments on the tree," Hall said. Now that Hall has her own Christmas tree in her home, she said she loves decorating it with each angel ornament her mother has gifted her over the years. Waters said her ornament pertains to her beloved pup, Garrison. She explained that she has a few black Labrador ornaments, including one made by a viewer. "Every year for the holiday season, Garrison gets so sick of me. You know I love my baking, and I have so many pictures of him just staring at me, like 'Come on, when are we going to go walk outside again and stop this baking,'" Waters said.
