Dec 24, 2024
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — ABC reported that The Federal Aviation Administration had requested a ground stop for all American Airlines flights this morning.
An hour later, American said flights were again beginning to board and the FAA lifted the nationwide ground stop.
The network reported that the ground stop was due to a “technical issue.”
The disruption came during one of the busiest holiday travel days of the year.
At least one American Airline flight from Rhode Island T.F. Green Airport showed a flight status of “Check with Airline.”
