JOHNSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Johnston police said two people were hospitalized following a head-on crash on Central Avenue.
According to officials, around 5:40 p.m. yesterday, officers responded to the area of 270 Central Avenue in reference to a motor vehicle accident involving a head-on collision between a Honda Accord and a Toyota Camry.
Police said appeared that the driver of the Camry, a 87-year-old man, had experienced a medical emergency that possibly contributed to the collision.
The elderly male was transported to the hospital.
The operator of the other car, a 41-year-old male, was also transported to the hospital for injuries that were not serious.
The accident is currently under investigation.
