LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – A Laurel County man is facing multiple charges after suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl were allegedly found in his vehicle during a traffic stop. The London Police Department reports that 30-year-old Derek Rains was pulled over on Monday. Officers discovered a large amount of cash, suspected fentanyl, and over a pound of suspected meth inside his pickup truck. Police say Rains resisted arrest by refusing to step out of the vehicle, leading to a brief struggle. He is now charged with trafficking, tampering with physical evidence, and resisting arrest.
