OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - An Oconee County woman was arrested last week after state officials said she committed voter fraud in the 2024 presidential election. According to the State Law Enforcement Division, in October, Nancy Ruth Birkner, 58, used another woman's name and submitted an absentee ballot for the election for a person who died in August of this year. Birkner was arrested on Wednesday and placed in the Oconee County Detention Center. She is charged with fraudulent registration or voting.
