Person critically injured after being rescued from DC fire on Christmas Eve

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- A person was in the hospital Tuesday morning after first responders in Washington, D.C. rescued them from a fire on Christmas Eve, according to officials.
In a post on X around 2:23 a.m. on Dec. 24, the DC Fire and EMS Department (DCFD) said units responded to a box alarm in the 1500 block of Ogden Street NW.
Upon arrival, crews found flames coming from the first floor of a building.

According to the DCFD, firefighters rescued one person.
The victim was taken to a trauma center with critical and life-threatening injuries.
The fire department said investigators were on the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
