(BCN) -- A Sacramento man accused of sexually assaulting a passenger on a San Francisco-bound airplane earlier this year has pleaded guilty, the U.S. Department of Justice, Northern District of California announced Monday. Rajesh Kumar Kapoor, 57, admitted to touching a woman without permission during a January flight from the Republic of Korea to SFO. Kapoor was indicted in March on suspicion of touching the woman's breasts and inner thigh, and on Thursday he pleaded guilty to abusive sexual contact, saying that he intentionally touched the victim's inner thigh without permission and "with the intent to harass her," prosecutors said. Kapoor is scheduled to be sentenced in March and he is facing a maximum of two years in federal prison and a fine of $250,000, according to prosecutors. Copyright © 2024 Bay City News, Inc.
