Traffic stop in Jesup leads to recovery of firearms and drugs

JESUP, Ga. (WSAV) - The Jesup Police Department (JPD) conducted a traffic stop that led to the discovery of both firearms and illegal narcotics.
The stop occurred on Friday, December 20th, 2024. Officers from the JPD Uniform Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop near North Brunswick Street and East Walnut Street. The driver, identified as John Christopher Osborne, and passenger Chadreius Boone were both subjected to a routine inquiry.
During the investigation, officers discovered Boone had outstanding warrants from Ohio and was considered "Armed and Dangerous." Officers obtained consent to search the vehicle, which yielded a significant cache of illegal items.
The search revealed four firearms, including: -
One HiPoint 9mm Pistol with an extended magazine
One Taurus 9mm Pistol with an extended magazine
One .22 caliber revolver that was reported stolen from the Miami Police Department
One AR-15 style rifle, commonly referred to as a "Ghost Gun," was found to be unserialized

In addition to the firearms, officers recovered a tactical vest, a large supply of ammunition, and various narcotics, including heroin, cocaine, marijuana, and lidocaine epinephrine.
Both Osborne and Boone were found to be previously convicted felons and were subsequently arrested. They have been transported to the Wayne County Jail, where multiple charges related to this incident are pending.
