WEST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (WLNE) — A man was arrested and charged this weekend following a hit-and-run crash in West Bridgewater.
According to Chief Timothy Nixon, 28-year-old Zachary Adomaitis of Raynham is facing numerous charges including possession of a class B drug, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended license, and more.
Police said on Friday, Dec. 20 around 2:10 p.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of North Main and Matfield Streets.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a motorcycle was allegedly operating erratically, and passing vehicles on North Main Street when it collided with a truck that was exiting Matfield Street.
The motorcycle operator allegedly fled the scene and could not be located at that time.
A passenger on that motorcycle sustained significant injuries and was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
Through investigative efforts, the suspect was identified as Adomaitis, and he was arrested on Sunday.
Police said Adomaitis was found to be in possession of cocaine.
He was arraigned yesterday, and held without bail.
