No injuries reported as Orinda residence catches fire

(KRON) -- Crews responded to a fire at an Orinda home Monday morning, the Moraga-Orinda Fire District (MOFD) announced in a news release. The fire broke out around 10:15 a.m. at a residence on 18 Las Palomas.
MOFD initially reported that two occupants were trapped inside, but it turned out that was not the case. According to MOFD, firefighters executed a search and rescue operation but did not report any victims or injuries from the fire.

On Monday morning, firefighters attend the roof vent at 18 Las Palomas in Orinda.
Firefighters battled the blaze from the outside of the home and eventually contained the fire about one hour later.
Personnel from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District, PG&E and the Orinda Police Department assisted in the response. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and remains under investigation.
