BankRI Holiday Giving Tree collects nearly 7,000 gifts from community

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Bank of Rhode Island announced it held its 27th year of it’s Holiday Giving Tree.
This year, 6,944 gifts were donated by bank customers, staff, and community members.
All 22 branches displayed a tree decorated with ornaments that featured the name, age, and holiday wish of children across Rhode Island.
The bank’s Pawtucket branch received the most gifts, with 783 presents donated for Adoption Rhode Island.
Woonsocket’s branch had the second largest amount, with 763 presents for Connecting for Children & Families.
The bank partnered with 16 Rhode Island non-profits that help underprivileged children in the state.
BankRI said the non-profits have begun distributing the presents to local families for the holiday’s.
