WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — If you haven't swung by Warwick Mayor Frank Picozzi's house to check out his annual Christmas display at least once over the past 17 years, time is now running out. Picozzi, who works throughout the year on his technologically advanced holiday display, announced over the weekend that this will "very likely" be its last year. In a social media post Saturday evening, Picozzi said key components of his display are getting old and need to either be replaced or rebuilt. "I'm not getting any younger and setting this up and taking it down is getting harder every year." "It's a difficult decision for me and it makes me very sad," he continued. "I've been doing this for 17 years and I love it, but it's just time." Picozzi told 12 News it takes roughly 250 hours to get his computerized display ready for the holiday season, adding that he typically begins setting it up in October. He also collects donations for The Tomorrow Fund at Hasbro Children’s Hospital and has raised tens of thousands of dollars over the years. The Picozzi Family Christmas Display runs through Dec. 31. Those interested in swinging by can do so Sunday through Thursday from 5:30 to 9 p.m., or on Fridays and Saturdays from 5:30 to 10 p.m. NEXT: Johnston man keeps family's holiday tradition alive with dazzling display Close Thanks for signing up!
