EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- The El Paso Transportation Authority wants to remind its riders in rural El Paso County that it is changing some of its routes and eliminating one in Socorro. The ETA says it will no longer make stops within the City of Socorro and will eliminate Route 84, starting Jan. 1. The transportation authority says Socorro has on several occasions declined to participate in the transit services. To help residents who live along the route that is being elminated, ETA has updated two of its routes -- Route 40 and Route 50 -- including expanding service hours and adding additional stops. These updates will begin Friday, Dec. 27 to help riders of the eliminated Route 84 transition to new routes. New maps and timetables can be viewed by clicking here. Socorro residents who require paratransit services are still eligible to apply for and use ETA's Access services. You can learn more by clicking here. ETA was created to replace El Paso County Public Transit and provide better service to riders in rural El Paso County, the organization said.
