Pueblo Zoo closed due to wild coyote on the grounds
Dec 23, 2024
(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Pueblo Zoo reopened after having to close on the morning of Monday, Dec. 23 due to what the zoo said was a wild coyote on the grounds.
On Monday, the Pueblo Zoo posted on Facebook that the zoo would be delayed opening due to a safety/technical issue. Later in the day, at around 1 p.m., Pueblo Zoo said the zoo was back open and that night's ElectriCritters would be open.
Pueblo Zoo said the reason for the closure was a "sickly" wild coyote finding its way onto zoo grounds, and the zoo was closed for public safety. Pueblo Zoo said no animals or guests were harmed during the incident.
The Pueblo Zoo was also closed and Electricritters canceled on Sunday, Dec. 22 due to unforeseen circumstances. Those who had tickets for Sunday are encouraged to visit another night. If you are unable to reschedule, you can contact Pueblo Zoo for a refund.
