Man arrested, accused of shooting dating partner in Ascension Parish

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a man who was accused of attempted murder on Monday.
Fondell Joshua, 39, of Donaldsonville, was arrested and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on charges of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm and illegal use of weapons and dangerous instrumentalities.
According to the sheriff's office, Joshua reportedly shot his dating partner on Monday morning.
The victim was taken to a local hospital to be treated, where they are expected to recover, deputies say.
Joshua reportedly had a prior charge of domestic abuse battery.
Jail records show no bond amount has been set at this time.
