Bill Clinton is undergoing testing at Georgetown University Hospital where he was hospitalized Monday for a fever, according to the 42nd president’s deputy chief of staff. “President Clinton was admitted to Georgetown University Hospital this afternoon for testing and observation after developing a fever,” longtime Clinton associate Angel Urena posted online. “He remains in good spirits and deeply appreciates the excellent care he is receiving.” The 78-year-old Democrat served two terms as president before leaving the White House in 2001. Known for enjoying fast food on the campaign trail, Clinton became a healthy eater around 2010 after an emergency heart surgery at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. He told AARP in 2013 he’d lost 30 pounds by cutting meat, cheese, fish and dairy from his diet. His goal was to get in shape for his daughter’s July 2010 wedding. Clinton nearly returned to the White House in 2017 when his wife Hillary Clinton ran for office and lost the electoral vote to Donald Trump while winning the popular vote handily. She posted a photo to Facebook last week remembering the 1994 White House Christmas Tree. Little information was available about Clinton’s condition Monday night. The ex-president, who completed his undergraduate studies at Georgetown, has been active on the media circuit since releasing his memoir “Citizen: My Life After the White House” last month. Appearing on ABC’s “The View” earlier this month, Clinton said he had a hard time sleeping after his wife lost her bid for the presidency, but he’s sleeping better now.”
