TULARE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A man was shot in the face while he was walking in Tulare early Monday morning, the city's police department said. Police say on Dec. 23, at around 2 a.m., the department's communications center received a 911 call regarding a man who was suffering from a gunshot wound to his face. According to police, officers responded to the victim's residence in the 200 block of S H Street. Police say the victim told officers he was walking in the area of H Street and W. Inyo Avenue when he was approached by a man and then was shot in the face for an unknown reason. According to police, the victim walked to his residence and called 911. The Tulare Police Department says the victim, a 44-year-old man from Tulare, was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment and is in stable condition. Police say the suspect is unknown and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Detective Banuelos at 559-685-2300.
