Weather forecast for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and the day after Christmas in southeastern PA, southwestern NJ

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory in effect from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday for portions of northern Delaware, southern New Jersey, and southeast Pennsylvania. The areas expected to be affected are: New Castle, Salem, Gloucester, Camden and Wilmington in Delaware; Philadelphia, Chester County and Delaware counties in Pennsylvania and Camden, Cherry Hill, Glassboro and Pennsville in New Jersey.
“Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations up to 1 inch and ice accumulations around a light glaze,” the forecast stated.
Roads, bridges and overpasses are expected to be slick and hazardous.
“Slow down and use caution while traveling,” the NWS advised. “The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 511.”
The NWS is predicting a continuation of some chilly temperatures for the start to Christmas Eve travel, but warmer than it has been. The lows are forecast to be in the 21- to 23-degree range and highs reaching about 38-40 degrees on Tuesday.
For Berks and Montgomery counties, light snow is expected tonight into Tuesday morning.
“A weak system will bring a round of light wintry mixed precipitation to the region the morning ofChristmas Eve,” the NWS forecast discussion stated Monday afternoon. “Cool and dry high pressure will then settle to our northeast, with mostly dry conditions and gradually moderating temperatures.
“Christmas Eve night and Christmas Day will feature benign weather conditions.”
On Christmas Day, the high will reach around 37-39 degrees and the low will be 22-24 degrees.
The high is expected to be around 39 degrees Thursday and temperatures are expected to warm, with rain possible this weekend.
