HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Power is back on across Holyoke, after an outage knocked out electricity to hundreds of customers around the city on Monday afternoon. A notice on the utility's website and Facebook page read: "All customers have been restored. Thank you for your patience!" The outage map on the HG&E website showed scattered outages throughout the city, with a total of nearly 650 customers in the dark at around 2:45 P.M. Some of the most significant outages were in the downtown area, as well as some of the city's northernmost neighborhoods. According to the Holyoke Fire Department, firefighters and HG&E crews were out on Cabot Street, where utility crews were "assessing the situation and working on restoring power." The Holyoke Police Department posted on their official Facebook page that they had been operating on backup power as a result of the outage.
