Late fees on Richmond utility payments to be waived until New Year
Dec 23, 2024
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Late fees on any payments due to the Richmond Department of Utilities (DPU) will be waived during an upcoming five-day period, according to a Monday announcement from the city.
On Thursday, Dec. 26, and Friday, Dec. 27, the city's Finance Payment Centers will be closed for upgrades. During this time, the city's Department of Finance will be closed. This means that City Hall, the EDI Building and the Southside Service Center will not be able to accept payments on any city-associated bills.
While there are still other payment options available to DPU customers, any late fees on DPU payments due between Dec. 26 and Dec. 30 will be waived, according to the department.
Additionally, disconnection of gas and water services will be paused through Jan. 5, 2025.
