Expect a chilly Christmas in the Piedmont Triad

(WGHP) -- Clear skies this evening with temperatures remaining frigid in the low 30s by 7 PM. Overnight clouds will steadily increase leaving us with partly cloudy skies early Tuesday morning and temperatures in the mid 20s to kick off Christmas Eve day.
Mostly sunny skies throughout the day Tuesday with afternoon highs reaching the low 50s. After 5 PM on Christmas Eve, temperatures will be in the 40s so make sure you're bundling up if you're heading to Christmas Eve services.
We'll wake up in the low 30s Christmas morning with partly cloudy skies. Afternoon temperatures will struggle to reach the 50s, which means most of us remain in the 40s throughout the day.
Partly cloudy skies remain on Thursday with temperatures near freezing in the morning and afternoon highs in the low 50s. Winds will also be a little breezy out of the northeast at 5 to 15 mph.
Friday will look very similar to Thursday with morning temperatures near freezing and highs in the low 50s. Skies remain partly cloudy with a very low chance for a stray shower. The chance for rain is less than 20%.
Rain chances return into the weekend with isolated to scattered showers possible on Saturday and Sunday. We'll wake up in the mid 30s Saturday morning and afternoon highs reach the low 50s with mostly cloudy skies and a 30% chance for rain. By Sunday, rain chances increase slightly and temperatures will be in the mid 40s in the morning, reaching the upper 50s by the afternoon. The chance for rain Sunday is 40%. Winds will also be breezy out of the south at 10 to 15 mph.
Lingering stray showers will be possible Monday morning with a 20% chance for rain. Temperatures start off in the mid 40s in the morning and reach the upper 50s by the afternoon.
