Authorities seek whereabouts on suspect in Wisconsin shooting

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Wisconsin are seeking information on a suspect connected to a shooting that left one person hospitalized in critical condition.
On December 17, 2024, at around 7:30 p.m., the Rock County Communications Center received a call reporting a shooting in the 300 block of North High Street in Janesville.
Wisconsin DOJ investigates officer-involved shooting in Chippewa County
The first officer to arrive at the scene discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest inside an apartment building. The officer rendered aid until paramedics arrived, who then transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
A significant police presence was established to secure the crime scene, and multiple items of evidence were seized.
Wisconsin man charged after Sunday stabbing leaves one hospitalized
The Janesville Police Department is continuing its investigation and has identified the suspect as 41-year-old Deonte L. Foster. Foster is described as an African American male, approximately 5'9", weighing 180 pounds, with short brown hair, brown eyes, a scar on his forehead, and several tattoos. These include a neck tattoo reading "Ashley" and a left forearm tattoo reading "Dirty Block." He has two piercings in his left ear and is wanted for attempted first-degree intentional homicide in connection to this incident.
