(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Police arrested a man after a domestic disturbance call where officers followed blood drops to an apartment in the Rockrimmon neighborhood. According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) on Sunday, Dec. 22 at around 4:15 p.m., police got a call about a domestic disturbance happening in the 5800 block of Walsh Point near South Rockrimmon and Mark Dabling Boulevards. When police arrived, they found a fresh blood trail on the sidewalk outside of an apartment building. Additional blood was found as police went to an apartment to check on those living inside. CSPD said police tried multiple times to make contact with whoever was living at the apartment but there was no answer. Due to needing to determine the status of anyone's life and safety, force was used to enter the apartment. Police found a man identified as Troy Barrington, bleeding heavily, medical personnel tended to Barrington and through police's investigation, found he was in violation of a protection order barring him from the home. Barrington was taken into custody and police said the woman related to the incident left the scene before officers arrived and has not been found or contacted.
