2 arrested, 1 wanted after 18yearold found dead in West Baton Rouge Parish sugarcane field

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Two suspects were arrested and one is wanted after a body was found in the sugarcane field in Addis.
According to the West Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, Devontae Johnson, 23, of Brusly, and Sterling Powell, 18, of Sunset, were arrested and charged with principal to second-degree murder and obstruction of justice.
A third suspect, Tyler Davis, 18, remains at large and is wanted by the sheriff's office. He is wanted on charges of second-degree murder and obstruction of justice.
On Dec. 18, authorities were contacted by a local cane farmer who reported a fire burning in a field near Sid Richardson Road in Addis. Deputies found 18-year-old Ja'Morius Mitchell, of Plaquemine, in the field. According to Plaquemine Police, Mitchell was considered a missing person last seen on Dec. 12.
This is an ongoing investigation.
