BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- An Arvin man admitted to jumping a fence and sexually assaulting a neighbor's dog earlier this month, according to newly-released court filings.
Jose Angel Flores-Chavez told police he entered the yard to retrieve a soccer ball when he saw his neighbor's cane corso and became aroused. He said he touched the dog and masturbated, according to the filings.
Flores-Chavez is charged with two misdemeanors: sexual assault on an animal and trespassing. He's due in court Jan. 7.
An investigation began when the dog's owner went to police on Dec. 4 and said surveillance video showed her neighbor sexually assaulting her female dog.
Police reviewed the video, which shows a man in the yard who attempts to grab the dog -- named Princess -- then pulls his shorts down, according to the filings. It could not be determined from the video whether the dog was assaulted.
But when questioned Flores-Chavez confirmed he touched the dog "for sexual gratification," the filings say.
An examination performed at a veterinary hospital revealed Princess was uninjured and there were no signs of sexual abuse, the filings say.
