Halloween ‘Deadpool’ assault being investigated in Hoboken
Dec 23, 2024
New Jersey police are asking for the public’s help in finding four people connected to an alleged Halloween night aggravated assault in Hoboken involving someone who appears to have been dressed as the Marvel Comics character Deadpool.
“The victim reported she had been walking northbound on Washington Street when an unidentified individual, wearing all red, ran directly into her and struck her, possibly intentionally,” police said in a Monday press release.
Though the incident occurred nearly a couple of months ago, police are looking for the man wearing all red and possibly disguised as the comic character played by Ryan Reynolds on the big screen.
New Jersey Police released photos of a person dressed as Deadpool mowing down a pedestrian in Hoboken on Halloween.
“He now faces charges of aggravated assault, due to the extent of the victim’s injuries,” police said.
The unidentified victim said she was walking on Washington St. not far from the Path Station around 9 p.m. when she was struck, causing injuries to her mouth and knee.
The young adult wanted for questioning was accompanied by an individual in black pants and a gray sweatshirt and two people in ski masks — one of whom carried a dinosaur backpack. All four of those people ran from the scene where the incident occurred, according to police.
The person in the Deadpool outfit appeared to be wearing a dark face mask.
Hoboken authorities didn’t immediately respond to a request for further information about the investigation.
