Lyon Co. sheriff says scammer impersonating sergeant
Dec 23, 2024
LYON COUNTY (KSNT) - The Lyon County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) is warning residents of a scammer impersonating one of its sergeants.
The LCSO shared on social media on Dec. 23 that a person is calling residents and claiming to be Sergeant Zach Shafer. The scammer is calling people and telling them they need to call back due to a legal matter.
"While we do have a Zach Shafer employed by the Sheriff’s Office, these specific calls are an attempt at a scam," the sheriff's office wrote on social media.
