Veteran Brockton firefighter dies from cardiac arrest

BROCKTON, Mass. (WWLP) - A veteran firefighter died in the line of duty in Brockton.
One person dead after apartment fire in Hartford
The Brockton Fire Department says Jeffrey Albanese suffered a cardiac arrest on December 9 while going to a call. He was taken to the hospital where he spent nearly two weeks fighting for his life.
The fire department announced on Sunday that Albanese passed away late Saturday night. There was a procession on Sunday for the 24-year veteran of the fire department.
He most recently served as the senior man of Engine Company 4, according to Chief Brian Nardelli. He also was a member of the Honor Guard.
Albanese leaves behind a wife and two children. He fought this battle with his family, brother, and sister firefighters by his side.
