CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Funeral arrangements have been made for the Chesterfield Fire and EMS lieutenant that lost his life to cancer on Friday. According to Chesterfield Fire and EMS, the funeral arrangements have been finalized for Lieutenant Robert Talbott -- a veteran with Chesterfield Fire and EMS, assigned to Fire Station 24 on Courthouse Road. Lieutenant Talbott passed away at 55-years-old on Friday night, after "a brief, but valiant fight against cancer. He was a 20-year veteran of Chesterfield Fire and EMS, who was promoted to Lieutenant in 2017. In addition, Lieutenant Talbott served numerous assignments at Chester, Midlothian, Dale, Rivers Bend, Matoaca, Bon Air and Swift Creek fire stations. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28 at The Tabernacle Church -- located at 1978 South Boston Rd. in Danville. Throughout his career, Lieutenant Talbott received numerous awards for his heroism and lifesaving work as both a firefighter and a paramedic. Most recently, he received a Unit Life Save Award for helping rescue five people from a burning apartment building during a fire in October of 2023. Chesterfield Fire and EMS
