A Few Extra Flakes for the Holidays!
Dec 23, 2024
We’re dealing with a wicked cold start to the week– temperatures this (Monday) morning are in the single digits and the teens. We’ll see plenty of sunshine today, but even the energy from the beautiful sunshine we’ll see today won’t boost temperatures too much. Highs end up in the upper 20s, with a few brave spots trying to hit 30 degrees.
Later this afternoon clouds creep in, and that trend continues overnight. A quick-moving clipper system to our west will send a few snow showers our way Tuesday morning. Overall, it’ll be a pretty low-impact snow event. We could see a coating in northern Rhode Island and parts of the South Shore. Higher elevations (like the Worcester Hills and the Berkshires) could see an inch or two. A pretty picture for Christmas Eve, but a little tough for travelers! Take it easy as roads could be slick.
For Christmas Day and the first night of Hanukkah, the weather will be calmer. High temperatures Wednesday will be in the low to mid 30s, and we’ll have plenty of sun!
From there, we stay sunny and temperatures gradually climb, putting us back in the 40s by the weekend!
