TERREBONNE PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Troopers with the Louisiana State Police are investigating a crash that left a man dead in Terrebonne Parish on Sunday, Dec. 22. The LSP reported the crash happened on Louisiana Highway 24 near Terminal Road around 9 a.m. Will garbage be collected on Christmas Day in my Southeast Louisiana parish? LSP officials said an initial investigation shows a 25-year-old was driving a Ford north on Louisiana Highway 24 while 35-year-old Yassir Parrales was driving a Nissan south. The Ford then reportedly crossed the centerline while entering a curve, hitting the Nissan head-on. $40K Mega Millions lottery ticket sold in Lacombe Parrales suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford was taken to a hospital with critical injuries. LSP officials said the investigation is ongoing, and routine toxicology samples were collected.
