MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A man was left critically injured after a shooting on Highway 385 at Kirby Parkway early Monday morning. According to Memphis Police, they were called to a shooting with a person struck around 2 a.m. Officers say when they arrived at the scene, they saw a vehicle riddled with bullet holes. A male victim was found in the driver's seat of a car suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers say they found his wallet and were able to identify him. During the investigation, another victim returned to the scene. He told officers that he and the victim were driving on Highway 385 when the shooting victim accidentally merged into the center lane. That is when he says he heard a horn honk at them followed by a loud bang sound. Someone driving a gray four-door sedan was accused of shooting at their vehicle. He says he left the scene in fear for his life while calling 911 and that he only returned when dispatch told him officers had made it to the scene. The shooting victim was taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition at that time. This is still an ongoing investigation.
