WASHINGTON D.C. -- The office of U.S. Senator Todd Young, R-Ind. announced on Monday that he will serve on the Senate Intelligence Committee, as well as three other committees, in the 119th Congress. According to a news release from Young's office, Young will serve on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence for the first time. This committee was created in 1976 to provide legislative oversight over the intelligence activities of the United States. This committee has 17 senators, including nine from the majority party and eight from the minority, the release said. Audit reveals at least $56 million in improper Indiana Medicaid payments “As a former U.S. Marine Corps intelligence officer, I have a deep appreciation for our dedicated intelligence professionals and the importance of unbiased intelligence to our national security," Young said in the release. "I look forward to working with my colleagues on the committee to ensure policymakers are receiving the best intelligence possible as they make critical decisions." The release said that Young will continue to serve on the following committees: Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation Senate Committee on Small Business and Entreprenuership Senate Committee on Finance “I’m honored to continue my work on these committees to tackle the issues most important to Hoosiers," Young said, "including stimulating economic growth, reducing costs for families and ensuring America maintains global leadership in technology," Senator-elect Banks named to 4 committees in 119th Congress According to previous reports, the office of U.S. Senator-elect Jim Banks also recently announced Banks' committee assignments for the 119th Congress, including: Senate Committee on Armed Services Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs The committee assignments will begin in January.
