LAURINBURG, N.C. (WBTW) -- An 18-year-old Pembroke man is facing murder and other charges connected to a Saturday night shooting at a Laurinburg business, police said. Jeremiah Da'Mon Locklear was charged with first-degree murder, common law robbery, discharging a firearm in city limits, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He's being held without bond at the Scotland County Jail. Authorities said it happened about 6:45 p.m. at the Clinton Inn at 1609 U.S. 401 South in Laurinburg. William Alex Breeden III, 33, of Wagram, was transported to Scotland Memorial Hospital where he later died. Police said Breeden told family members he was going to the store and upon exiting the room, they heard gunshots. Breeden returned to the room saying he was shot.
