(FLORENCE, Colo.) — One person died after being thrown from their car when it crashed into a guardrail on Highway 50 on Saturday, Dec. 21.
According to the Colorado State Patrol (CSP), the driver of the vehicle — identified as a Toyota Prius, was traveling westbound on Highway 50 when it veered off the road and crashed into a guardrail. The car then bounced back on the roadway and rolled twice.
CSP told FOX21 News the driver of the Pruis was ejected and landed in the eastbound lanes of HWY 50. The driver was run over by three oncoming vehicles. The other three people involved are a 19-year-old man from Pueblo driving a Honda Civic, a 25-year-old man from Aurora driving a Mazda CX3, and a 41-year-old man from Colorado Springs driving a Nissan Altima. None of them reported any significant injuries.
At the moment, the crash is under investigation and troopers do not know if drugs, alcohol, or speed were involved.
