FARGO, ND (KXNET) — A hit-and-run crash in Fargo Monday morning killed a 36-year-old woman. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, around 6:28 a.m., December 23, the woman was crossing 38th Street South and 53rd Avenue South when she was struck by a light-colored Dodge Charger. Witnesses said, after striking the woman, the car took off and fled east on 53rd Avenue South. The woman was taken by ambulance to Essentia Hospital for life-threatening injuries where she later died. Based on witnesses and traffic camera footage, it was believed the car had damage to the driver's side front headlight, bumper and quarter-panel area. The North Dakota Highway Patrol said it was able to identify a matching vehicle from "a previous contact with law enforcement," according to a statement. The 2022 Dodge Charger was located in Fargo and a 23-year-old Fargo man was taken into custody for felony leaving the scene of a fatal crash. He was transported to the Cass County Jail.
