As you prepare to close the chapter on 2024 and start anew in 2025, an array of fun events await you in the new year.January brings annual favorites like the talented ice carvers at the Harbor Point Ice Festival, as well as some quirky events like a Seinfeld-themed rave.Whether you’re resolving to explore Baltimore’s arts and cultural offerings, learn a new skill at a workshop, or dust off those ice skates you got years ago, our January events list is sure to help you begin 2025 on a meaningful and merry note.Charm City Lights, ongoing nightly through Jan. 1, 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Druid Hill Park. Baltimore City Recreation & Parks presents the second annual Charm City Lights exhibit, featuring a one-mile, drive-thru adventure featuring custom, animated displays, and a 48-foot tree.Holiday Train Garden, ongoing through Sunday, Jan. 5, The Shops at Kenilworth. Stop by The Shops at Kenilworth’s lower level during all mall hours to see the annual train garden display.Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None, ongoing through Jan. 4, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. performances, Everyman Theatre. Directed by Noah Himmelstein and adapted for the stage by Agatha Christie herself, “And Then There Were None” promises an evening of suspense, secrets, and unexpected twists. Inner Harbor Ice Rink, ongoing through Monday, Jan. 20. Skate across the ice and enjoy views of the Inner Harbor. The ice rink is open daily, with hours of operation being Monday through Thursday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Note: special hours on holidays.) Purchase tickets here.HoCo Open 2025 and Chroma, ongoing through Feb. 1. Howard County Arts Council announced two new exhibits on view at the Howard County Center for the Arts. HoCo Open 2025 is an annual salon-style, non-juried exhibit showcasing artwork in a variety of media by local artists. Chroma features abstract work by Cheri Glover, Josef Keyes, and LUSMERLIN. There will be a reception on Jan. 17, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with live music, refreshments, and the presentation of the Covington Emerging Artist Award. Free and open to the public.The Murder Mystery Co’s Dinner Theater Show, Saturday, Jan. 4, 6:30 p.m. and Fri, Jan. 17, 7 p.m., The Olive Grove. Enjoy a three-course meal and an immersive, comedic murder mystery as you examine clues and mingle with suspects.Bach & Mozart, Sunday, Jan. 5, 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Maryland State Boychoir Center for the Arts. In their first Sunday concert of 2025, Bach in Baltimore will performing Bach’s Cantata 83 and Mozart’s Symphony No. 25.Hopkins Ice Rink, Friday, Jan. 10, through Sunday, Feb. 23, parking lot next to Johns Hopkins University’s Imagine Center for Integrative Learning and Life Design, 113 West University Parkway. Show off your skating skills as Johns Hopkins University brings back its temporary ice rink for the fourth year. Hopkins faculty, staff and students can skate during weekday sessions; meanwhile, both Hopkins affiliates and the general public can skate during weekend sessions. Presented by Transcendent Productions, Nerd Prom 2025 promises classic 80s nerdiness, including a cheesy prom photo booth, 80s prom decor, a prom court ceremony, an epic dance-off, cosplay karaoke, arcade games, and signature themed drinks. Night of 100 Beehives, Saturday, Jan. 11, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Peabody Heights Brewery. Welcome to the very first Night of 100 Beehives, where the theme of the night is all things beehive and up-dos!
