AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Two Party City stores in Austin will keep their doors open despite nationwide store closures following a bankruptcy filing.
The stores on Brodie Lane and Research Boulevard are locally owned and operated, according to a store manager. They will still be party supplies stores, but exact logistics are unknown. The stores opened before the Party City company formed.

The other two Party City locations at Southpark Meadows and Capital Plaza will have store closing sales, according to the stores' voicemail messages.
The party supplies company announced Saturday it would shutter about 700 stores nationwide and file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
"The decision was made following exhaustive efforts by the Company to find a path forward that would allow continued operations in an immensely challenging environment driven by inflationary pressures on costs and consumer spending, among other factors," the company said in a release.
