Fatal crash shuts down Interstate 270 South in northeast Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- Interstate 270 South in northeast Columbus is shut down Monday after a fatal crash.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office said the crash occurred just after 8:30 a.m. in Blendon Township when a Honda "abruptly" changed lanes and hit a Buick in the driver's side mirror. The Honda continued and then hit a semi-trailer.
The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:45 a.m., and the driver of the semi was stable and taken to a hospital. The driver of the Buick was not injured, per the sheriff's office.

I-270 South is shut down from State Route 161 to Westerville Road. All traffic is being diverted to State Route 161. Beyond Easton Way, three left lanes on I-270 South are also closed because of an earlier crash.
