Birdwatching: The hobby you should pick up in 2025
Dec 23, 2024
When I started birdwatching years ago, it was a total accident. Blue jays, crows, and unidentified feathered friends started catching my eye, and I got addicted to discovering their names. But an unexpected dilemma arose: Should I watch them through my binoculars or take pictures with my camera? Turns out, I didn’t have to choose.
I found this pair of digital binoculars with a camera built right in. So, after painful years of deciding whether to live in the moment or preserve memories, I can finally have both. During this end-of-year sale, you can get your own pair for $89.97 (reg. $199.99).
Here’s why you need to start birdwatching
I honestly hate the stereotype that birding is just for grannies or retired folk—I’m only 24, I swear. The hobby is such a great way to spend more time outdoors and learn more about nature.
And, if you’re a tech nut, these camera binoculars are a cool way to combine your love of photography with the great outdoors. I don’t have a bird Instagram account or anything, but I should—with 12X magnification and 5MP image resolution, I’ve gotten some pretty awesome shots of birds from my bedroom window.
Here’s a snow crow I got to watch and capture simultaneously:
Taking them outside will also be great once the weather warms up. They’re anti-fog, -dust, and -shock, so I don’t even have to baby them.
I also think they’d make great binoculars for concerts. Imagine buying a seat in the nosebleeds, zooming in over half a mile closer, and taking cool concert pics.
I love my binoculars with a built-in camera, I just wish I got them on sale like you can. Order a pair while they’re $89.97 (reg. $199.99) during this end-of-year sale. No coupon is needed.
