Photo by Quinn Harris/Getty Images Check out your risers and fallers from the Lions’ win over the Bears in this week’s stock report The Detroit Lions bounced back nicely in Week 16 against a Chicago Bears team that remains in utter disarray. It was a nice palate-cleansing win, and the Lions walked away healthy, which is a huge win given how the last few weeks have played out. Here are your movers for the week after their 34-17 win over the Bears. Stock up: Jameson Williams, WR Stats: 5 rec, 143 yards, 1 TD; 1 rush, 7 yards Jamo was the star of the show on Sunday for the offense. He grabbed everyone’s attention with an 82-yard touchdown reception and kept showing off the rest of the afternoon. Williams continues to find ways to showcase his talents, even when competing with the many other talented skill position players on the Lions offense. We’re seeing a lot more consistency in his usage and production week in and week out, with this being his fourth game out of the last five with five receptions. The increased reliability and production are a welcome development for Williams in Year 3. Stock up: Terrion Arnold, CB Stats: 6 tackles, 1 pass defended The Lions lost Carlton Davis for the rest of the regular season and likely further, leaving the notoriously handsy Terrion Arnold to slide into the number one cornerback role for Detroit. He stepped up to the plate in his first week on the job, playing a clean and tight game against the likes of DJ Moore and Keenan Allen. Arnold did bite on a Keenan Allen double move just before the half to give up a touchdown, but it appeared to me that he was expecting safety help over top from Ifeatu Melifonwu that was just a second too late. Arnold continued to have a solid day after that, including several clean, yet physical, red-zone reps at the end of the game. Stock up: Christian Mahogany, G Mahogany had a similar ask to Terrion Arnold, slotting into the starting left guard role as veteran Graham Glasgow missed Week 16 with a knee injury. Mahogany stepped in without much interruption and kept the pocket clean for Jared Goff on Sunday. He displayed good field vision blocking on the Lions’ many running back screens as well. It was a promising first start for the rookie and bodes well for the future in light of Graham Glasgow’s recent struggles. Stock neutral: Ifeatu Melifonwu, S Stats: 4 tackles, 1 sack, 1 TFL, 1 QB hit Iffy returned to the lineup for the first time all year and popped off the screen from the start, coming in hot on a blitz on the very first drive. He would go on to have a solid performance on the day, including a sack and timely hit on a receiver late in the game to seal the deal for the Lions. The lone blip on his radar was a costly one, coming in to help just a second late on the Keenan Allen touchdown near the end of the first half. It appeared as though Arnold was expecting safety help over the top, but that turned into the Bears’ second touchdown of the first half. Otherwise, a solid performance from Iffy and a welcome return to the lineup. Stock up: Jared Goff, QB Stats: 23/32, 336 yards, 3 TD Goff continued his hot streak Sunday, picking apart the Bears defense at every level. We even got some bonus theatrics from him and Jahmyr Gibbs on the fake-stumble, trick play that resulted in a Sam LaPorta touchdown. Goff continues to show development in his ability to navigate the pocket and even occasionally move it laterally. Most impressive, though, was his absolute dot to Jamo for an 82-yard touchdown. Goff threw the ball long before Jamo broke past the defense, and did so in cold weather conditions that he previously had a reputation to struggle in. Goff continues to show tremendous development this season and it’s adding up in a big way down the stretch when the offense—and the Lions at large—need it the most. Quick hits Stock up Amik Robertson, CB: Robertson has quietly emerged as another reliable player on this defense week in and week out. He had another solid showing Sunday against a talented Bears receiving corps. Jack Campbell, LB: Campbell had a nice bounce back week against a weak Bears run game after struggling against the Bills in Week 15. Al-Quadin Muhammad: Muhammad came up with a late sack to put the Bears away, just like three weeks ago. Stock neutral Jake Bates, K: It looks like Bates had just enough leg on his 65-yard field goal attempt, which is insane in Chicago’s December cold. Sucks that he missed it, but fun that we got to see the try. He made his other tries and helped keep the Lions in the lead all afternoon long. Stock down Jack Fox, P: Fox’s lone punt of the day was a short one that took a very favorable bounce to make the stat sheet look better.
