ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO) – A nine-year-old was rescued from a neighborhood pond Sunday afternoon.
A call came in around 12:30 p.m. in regards to a boy who had fallen through the ice on the pond. Reports say the boy’s friend who was with him attempted to help get him out of the water, though he ended up falling through the ice as well. The boy trying to help his friend was able to get out of the pond, himself.
Allen County Sheriff’s Department officers and the Fort Wayne Fire Department Water Rescue Team were able to recover the child who had fallen through, and he was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
