WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Looking to ring in the new year?
Whether you are in D.C., Maryland or Virginia, several events are happening across the DMV to kick off the year ahead.
DC News Now has compiled a list of some of the festivities taking place this New Year's Eve.
DC
Noon Yards Eve
Noon Yards Eve is "the ultimate family-friendly celebration." The event, which will be held from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at The Sundeck at The Yards DC in Southeast, will feature train rides, an inflatable slide, a bounce house, carnival games, crafts and more. A "sparkling balloon" will drop at noon, allowing little ones to usher in the new year.
The celebration is free, but families can click here to reserve a spot.
Maryland
Merriweather Symphony of Lights
The Merriweather Symphony of Lights in Columbia is a one-mile course of scenic colored lights visitors can drive through to experience the holiday season. The experience opened on Nov. 29 and goes until Jan.4; however, visitors can walk through the light show on select dates.
On New Year's Eve, the venue will host the "Midnight at 7" event, giving attendees the chance to walk through the course one last time this holiday season. Fireworks will go off at 7 p.m., with music and food trucks.

At midnight, fireworks will illuminate the harbor sky. However, that's not all. This year, attendees will experience a new element, a "mesmerizing drone show" by Image Engineering.
