TOPEKA (KSNT) - Topeka is lit up for the holiday season with Winter Wonderland, Topeka Zoo Lights, and all of the homes in Top City. But one home in particular stands out among the rest for the community to come stop by. Jason and Kimberly Peace have been putting on a show for their community for nearly 15 years, starting in Denver, CO. When they moved to Topeka, they knew they had to continue their Christmas Tradition. "We started YouTubing light shows and synchronized lights and things like that," Jason Peace said. "I discovered a man named Richard Holman who used to live in Utah and I watched one of his videos of his house and that's where it started." The light show is synchronized to many LED light boards and decorations in their yard. What you may not know is how long this process takes to put on this extravagant of a show. Jason is the guy behind all the displays you see, Local nonprofits help Topeka wrap up holiday shopping "Generally, we try to do a wide range of variety of songs from everything from new age, old-school, rock, some country, whatever we can come up with," Peace said. "I generally do most of the sequencing. It's probably like looking at an Excel Spreadsheet in ten second increments and it usually takes around 40 to 50 hours per song." All of the lights you see take about a month to be placed and get set up. But the programming and synchronizing starts before the show even concludes. The couple tells 27 News, they have already began their plans for the 2025 show. But what continues their show every year? "The smiles on everyone's face," Peace said. "Listening to people laugh. Listening to kids laugh. Sometimes we can hear the, all the way in the back of the house. It's just bringing joy to people and having fun with it." Topeka police request help in search for missing woman The light are scheduled to run into the new year at 655 SW Westchester Rd., Topeka. The shows begin at 5:30 p.m. every night and continue until 10 p.m. They will have their show displayed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years eve and New Years Day.
