Virginia Beach fire displaces 12 people in apartment complex

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) -- Twelve people were displaced after a fire at the Regency Apartments on Sunday night, according to the Virginia Beach Fire Department.
At approximately 8:45 p.m., crews were dispatched to the 1900 block of King Henry Court in reference to a reported multi-family commercial structure fire.
Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke and flames from the back of the two-story, four-unit building.
The fire was marked under control at approximately 9:05 p.m. and marked out by 9:35 p.m.
Six adults and six children were displaced in result of the fire, and the apartment’s management is assisting in providing other units for temporary housing for the displaced residents.
There were no injuries to residents, firefighters or pets.
The cause and the origin of the fire are under investigation.
