NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The holiday season is bringing some changes to the weather in our area. Tonight, temperatures will dip into the mid-40s, and Monday promises another pleasant day with highs in the lower 60s. As we head into Christmas Eve night and Christmas Day, rain is expected to move into the region. While the rain could dampen outdoor holiday plans, impacts are expected to remain minimal. Showers and a few thunderstorms may develop late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, with the heaviest rain likely on Christmas morning. Some areas could experience locally heavy rain, but severe weather is not anticipated. Temperatures will continue to warm, reaching around 70 degrees on Christmas Day. Rain chances will decrease in the afternoon, bringing drier conditions later in the day. The rest of the week looks unsettled, with additional rain possible Thursday through Saturday. Temperatures will remain mild, with highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s and lows in the 50s and 60s.
