WAIANAE, Hawaii (KHON2) -- A 17-year-old male is in custody after being arrested in connection to the deadly Dec. 19 drive-by shooting in Waianae.

The incident happened shortly after 9 p.m. when witnesses reported a white Toyota Camry passing by before hearing multiple gunshots.

The vehicle then fled towards Farrington Highway.
Upon arrival at the scene, HPD found a 28-year-old male victim had sustained a gunshot wound and was unconscious.
He was transported to the Queen's Medical Center-West in critical condition where officials said his condition deteriorated and the death pronouncement was made.
After interviewing numerous witnesses and reviewing many hours of surveillance video, detectives from HPD's Homicide/Strategic Enforcement Detail identified, located and recovered the suspect's vehicle.
"Evidence including bullet casings, were recovered and are being tested," said HPD in a media highlight.
HPD added there were three suspects involved in the shooting, one of which was arrested on Sunday, Dec. 22 around 3:10 p.m.

The 17-year-old was arrested for Murder in the Second Degree, Attempted Murder in the First Degree, Place to Keep and Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Separate Felony.
