Casselton post office renamed to honor town war hero

CASSELTON, ND (KXNET) — U.S. post offices will be closed throughout the country on Christmas day. But one post office in Casselton is looking to reopen after the holidays with a new name that has a special meaning.
This week, the Senate unanimously approved renaming the Casselton post office to honor a town war hero, Commander Delbert Austin Olson. Olson served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.
Records show he died in the line of duty, flying an operational in Thailand before he inexplicably crashed in 1968. During his service, Olson earned the Purple Heart and Navy Commendation Medal.
Senator Kevin Cramer says Olson's sacrifice will forever be remembered through Casselton's Commander Delbert Austin Olson Post Office.
