ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Two young girls were taken into custody Sunday afternoon after deputies said they were involved in a stolen car chase that ended in a crash in Irondequoit. According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to check out a larceny at the Walmart on Brandt Point Drive in Penfield. Deputies on scene eventually found the suspect car and attempted to stop the driver to no avail, and a chase ensued. The car the suspects were in was reported stolen out of Brighton on Dec. 13, deputies announced. Once in Irondequoit, deputies stated that the driver of the stolen car collided with another vehicle in the area of Culver Road and Russell Avenue. No injuries were reported. The area where the crash happened was shut down to traffic but has since reopened. Charges are pending. The investigation continues.
